Straight unloaders use an exclusive single cylinder design that is fast, smooth, and dependable. With over 40 years of experience, and over 500 unloaders placed in operation, the design has been fully proven. Many individual units have unloaded more than one million trucks or containers to date.
The Pulsator Unloader is a truly universal unloader. The patented Pulsator combines horizontal movement with tilting to unload all bulk materials and bags from trucks, trailers and containers in a highly efficient manner.
The design is streamlined, so one design can unload all of these things for a low cost, faster and with less dust or splash back and less danger. In some facilities, the cost of the Pulsator is paid for by the decrease in cost of the pit requirements.
The unloader unloads both free flowing and non-free flowing materials:
Bags -- bags and/or bulk unloading of cocoa beans, coffee beans, etc.
Seed -- sunflower, green ear corn, cotton, and other seeds
Wood -- wood chip, saw dust, and wood waste
Metal -- scrap including shredded steel scrap
Grain -- corn, wheat, barley, rice, etc.

Standard unloaders
Fast Cycle Time
A raise time of 50 seconds is typical for the Straight Unloader. A lowering speed of less than 20 seconds is standard. These speeds are possible because of the wheel/track concept.
Smooth and Dependable Design based on Wheel / Track Concept and Single Main Cylinder

The heart of a Straight Unloader is its single stage, vertically fixed, main cylinder. This unique design eliminates platform sway, shock loads, synchronization difficulties and rough operation inherent in telescoping cylinder designs.
The fast descent of the main cylinder is terminated automatically by a cam operated deceleration valve mounted on the main cylinder. This valve gradually slows the cylinder allowing the platform to settle gently onto the foundation or scale.
A unique, patented wheel carriage assembly mounted on top of the main cylinder provides rolling contact with curved tracks mounted within the platform structure. The track curvature is horizontal at the line of contact throughout the entire tilting cycle. This concept allows the main cylinder assembly to be installed in a fixed, vertical position. With this design, the tilting speed remains constant, resulting in a smooth platform movement.
Easy Maintenance - The cylinder has a single, long lasting rod seal which can be replaced simply and easily without removing the cylinder from its installed position.
Grain / Seed Saving Design
Grain or seed spillage and costly clean-up time are minimized with a Straight Unloader. A sloping plate in the platform under the rear wheel stop or back stop overlaps a sloping pit extension plate located between the platform hinge assemblies. Grain, seed or other bulk material falling in this area goes directly into the receiving pit.
Platform
The standard platform is an all welded construction. Large main beams and deck plate results in a steel platform, completely assembled, with rigidity and strength.
The platform pivots on two hinge assemblies. Hinge covers are provided to prevent build-up of foreign material in pivot area.
Wheel guides aid in centering trucks on the platform. Inverted "V" blocks accurately position the platform on the foundation or a scale.
Platform Lengths
Platforms ranging from 6 meters to almost 25 meters have been produced and installed. The platform can be produced locally for units being delivered internationally, outside of the United States.

Standard tilt angle is 35°. Variations on platform length and tilt angle are available.
Wheel Stops or Back Stops are available to accommodate all types of trucks and containers
Depending on the part of the world where the truck or container unloader is being used, wheel or back stops are used.
Wheel stops - Two sets of heavy duty, hydraulically powered wheel stops are typically used in the US market. The wheel stops are electrically interlocked with the platform 'Raise' function to prevent the platform from raising before a wheel stop is positioned. The wheel stops allow the unloader to accommodate trucks with varying rear overhangs. The speed of raising and lowering the wheel stops is adjustable as desired by the operator.
Back stops - Back stops are typically used on the Pulsator unloader and unloaders with a tilt of more than 40 degrees.
Control Panel
The Straight control console is designed for convenient, efficient operation. All functions, including motor start-stop and two-speed platform raise, are controlled from the console. A removable ignition type key switch allows the unloader to be 'locked out' when unattended.
A good viewing location is essential. The console is normally located to the rear and off to the driver's side of the unloader platform where the operator can observe the truck, its driver, the wheel stops / back stop, and the receiving pit.
Power Unit
The power unit is completely assembled, self-contained, dual pump / motor hydraulic system.
Two 40 HP motors drive high performance, quick servicing, vane type pumps.
Larger motors can be furnished if more speed or capacity is required.
Extended Pump Life -- The pumps are loaded only during the actual work portion of the unloading cycle giving extended pump life and maximum efficiency.
Backup -- Either pump/motor unit is capable of powering the complete system if necessary.
Every power unit is factory tested. Air and oil filtration is provided to maintain oil cleanliness. An immersion oil heater and an oil cooler are optional.
