Scales work well with Straight Unloaders. Straight works with scale companies recognized worldwide for quality and service.
Straight has the responsibility of properly applying the load to the levers or load cell assemblies. Customers often purchase the load cells and instrumentation directly from scale manufacturers.
Including the scale with the unloader allows both weighing and unloading in one convenient labor saving operation.
Over 80% of Straight customers choose to include a scale option with their unloader.
Reliability and weighing accuracy is unequalled through many special design features:
- Inverted 'V' blocks located over front and rear load cells, or over each main lever chair, transfer the truck weight from the platform to the scale. These 'V' blocks accurately position the platform on the scale after each tilt cycle. This is an important requirement for accurate weighing.
- The platform hinges are designed with adequate clearance at the hinge pins when the platform is on the scale, thus eliminating interference during the 'Weigh' operation. Hinge covers prevent build-up of grain in the hinge pivots leaving the platform free for accurate weighing.
- In the lower position, the cylinder assembly rests free of the platform, providing the necessary clearance for weighing. An indicator light on the control console tells the operator when this 'Weigh' position has been reached. This circuit provides a way to electrically interlock the scale with the unloader.
- The main cylinder deceleration valve, actuated at the end of the 'Lower' cycle, eliminates impact loads allowing the platform to set gently on the scale. This results in longer scale life and less scale maintenance.
